Black Monday

2 years, 229 days ago (January 21, 2008)

On my way to Liverpool street tonight, I saw a noticeable title on a Evening Stand – ‘Black Monday’. It’s quite black today, for the financial world. But it seems there are a lot other unfortunate things happened as well, on both personal and national level.

1) BBC news 24 channel has been reporting heavy snows and flooding across the UK.

2) Ruby, Yuk and a few of their friends visit London. I met up with them for a dinner, which was very nice. But they had suffered from not being able to take hot showers from yesterday, and a fine in London Tube. The penalty was not because they didn’t pay for tickets, but they were not familiar with London’s tube system and bought a wrong ticket.

3) Some personal things that made me quite down today as well.

Oh well, I will just go to bed early and tomorrow will be a great day for me. I believe!

Funny Babies on Youtube

Last night when I was about to sleep around 12am, Jenn hit me a link of the above video. Then links after links, the more I watched the harder I laughed, so I ended up going to sleep at 2:30am. Here is the list of links that we sent to each other on Gtalk. I’ve got to share this too. Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Korean Restaurant – KOBA

KOBA Korean Restaurant

As I said I will be sharing some of interesting places we went during new year, here is one – A Korean Restaurant called ‘KOBA’.

I found it from Bloomberg DINE. After reading some reviews for various Korean style restaurants, some of them used KOBA as a comparison, so I gave it a dig. It’s got a few ‘nice food, reasonable price’, a couple of complaints like ‘don’t wear expensive dresses, as they will be stunk afterward’, and one comment suggested ‘waiters need to pass their TOELF’.

Personal experience, it’s definitely a place worth to have a decent meal, if you like Korean BBQ. The place is nice and they’ve got more dinning area downstairs. The price is reasonable considering its location and services. But I found their intensive care with barbecuing the food for us is a bit annoying, I prefer doing it myself without any rush. I managed to have a OK communication with the kind staffs there, maybe it’s because we weren’t that picky and I used a lot of body languages.

In general, I will give it a 8 out of 10. And my clothes were smelled that bad after all. If you are interested to go, here is the location, and here are some photos from me.

Hi 2008

Waste No Time!

Happy New Year!!!! A greeting on the …… 6th of January.

I know I’m always late for posting greeting like Christmas or New Year, but wouldn’t it be sad if I stay at home writing blogs on New Year’s Eve?! Sorry if you have already done that, I meant it’s sad for me, but might be significant for you or other peoples.

OK, enough inappropriate pointless comment. My new year has been great, unlike Christmas. Jenn came down to London and I took a few days off to tour around London with her. We went for some sales shopping, tried several restaurants that I’ve always wanted to try, and visit some hot tourist spots like Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace and taking photos like those who’s first time there. Also we met up with some of Jenn’s friends and had a couple of social dinners. Jenn’s happy, and she loved traveling around London with her ”Octopus Card” (she once unconsciously asked me ‘have you seen my Octopus Card?’ and seconds later she realised it’s actually Oyster Card after watching me laughing so hard. That made my year).

There are a lot of things that I want to share, but I will post them bit by bit later on. Writing too many different topics on one post will confuse my readers, and worse, confuse myself. However, do check out some photos we took during new year. Here are some of my favor photos, enjoy!
