My Christmas 2007

My Christmas LunchAlthough it’s a bit late now, but Merry Christmas to all my families, friends, relatives and whoever is reading this now, I wish you had a great Christmas holiday and enjoyable time with your families and friends.

Well, I am working on Christmas this year, both Christmas day and Boxing Day. This is the photo of my lunch in the office, microwave Christmas “Dinner” with creamy microwave pudding. One of my colleagues said if there is turkey and vegs on a place on Christmas day, it’s called Christmas Dinner, regardless what time of the day you are having it.

I volunteer to work on these two days, basically because I’ve got nothing to do. Christmas is for families, but my families are not with me here. I wish I could be with Jenn, but with only two days off and a sky-high price train ticket, we decided to save the Christmas but spending New Year together. She is coming to London on 28th, this Friday! So, without families and Jenn, instead of sitting at home baking my own turkey, why not spending times in the office with other backup team members and sharing the joys of Christmas and microwave turkey lunch? We had fun today!

Sorry for not being able to bring much Christmas joy, but Merry Christmas! I’m very much looking forward to New Year!

Jenn’s personal post

What’s a personal blog? This is one! And what’s a very personal post? Read it!

I admit that I’m very conservative and careful with what I write on the net, and I several times pushes my conservativeness to Jenn and remind her to be as careful as me. But this post really made me laugh and smiles. Normally I will let her know by saying ‘Honey, about this post….’, and she will just ignore me as usual. But after reading this one, I just laughed. She is so special, in a very unpredictable way. But I have to say it’s so personal that makes you want to read more, and makes you feel the blog is so personal and lively. There is a girl writing it, regardless what you are going to say.

I really don’t know what to comment on it, but definitely worth to share it here. :)

Jenn

She has became my model since I got my Cannon 400D. She is loving it, so do I.

I’m back online

Can you believe it took me two months to get the Internet sorted in my new flat? Getting Internet in the UK is always troublesome, but this time is by far the worst experience.

But my biggest lesson is that monopoly is a terrible thing. It took BT a month to set up my phone line, because having a BT line is the precondition for applying for a broadband. I didn’t have other choices but to wait 15 days until the line is activated.

Then it’s the building management company. Since my flatmate and I decided to choose Sky for Sky+Broadband package, and we are living a building that has more than seven flats, the only way to setup a satellite dish is to contact the building management company and let them do it. And we will not receive any Internet connection until the TV connection is installed. Anyway, the building manager just kept holding, waiting, postponing until last weekend we totally fed up and decided to cancel the services. When I called them, they reminded me saying ‘…but please remember, sir, if you want satellite TV, we are the only company that can help you’. Yes, just because of that, I had to cancel them. Because there was no competition, so they can just sat there and waited for us to reach them. It’s either their way or no way. Monopoly sucks!

Anyway, after 2 months painful experiences, I’m finally connected to the net now. Life without Internet wasn’t as bad as I thought, at least it wasn’t like in the stone age. But I think I’m an anti-monopolist now. F that building management company!
