And it’s Sunday today

In Chinese we have a saying that "Time is losing while you are blinking" to describe time is passing very quickly. In English it’s "How time fly!"? I learned that from my primary school, please teach me if there are any other expressions:)

I have been home for almost one month already. Compare to the time in Japan, especially the last few weeks, I can say I have been totally enjoying and relaxing at home this month. But I just realised that time is passing much more quickly when you are in holiday. It’s Sunday again today, that means another week has finished (Sunday is the last day of a week in my personal timetable).

One month’s holiday is probably enough, I should get into study. Still got my one year project which I should have got it done in Japan, but I haven’t touched it yet. And my Japanese and getting worse as the language environment is gone, so as my English. I think I’d better start doing some work from now.
Gan ba ri masu!

P.S. I am testing Google Talk, if you got one please add me. My ID is "FRHong"

Some flight advices needed

I have kind of decided to go back around 19th of September to Durham. Because since boarding high school, I haven’t had a chance to spend mid-autumn day with my family for already 5 years. Luckily new term in Durham will not start until 6th October, and according to the Chinese traditional calendar mid-autumn day this is September 18th, so I am going to stay with family this year!

But I was checking the flight back to England just now, there were too many sites that provide ticket booking or searching services. I guess there are a few foreigner friends who visit my blog sometimes. Could you give me some advices on those websites that you used before for buying flight ticket from or to China? How is their credibility?

Thank you in advance!

Great Firewall is powerful!

I had quite a few problems with Internet connection since came back home, the first one is accessing Flickr and second is blogger.com

Flickr is my online photo sharing site, as Sinid sent me a pro account invitation, I am enjoying a 2G storage of photos every month. Also because I am a pro account, I don’t need to worry about my photos will be deleted by accident or something like that. So most of my photos are uploaded to Flickr. But since back to China, the connection speed became much slower than in Japan, and most of the time Flickr uploader encounters errors while uploading photos. Now it takes about at least to 1 minute to upload a 700K photo.

Another one is blogger.com. I have heard that this site has been blocked by Chinese Great Firewall censorship system, and now I can feel how difficult to access it. The main site blogger.com is still accessible but those under the domain ***.blogspot.com is impossible to visit. I tried to use proxy to use some foreign IP, but most of them couldn’t work. Some only works a few minutes.

I was complaining to my Chinese friends while we were transferring files through MSN when I was in Japan, because the speed was extremely slow. But now I can understand why. Some Chinese sites which were very difficult to access while I was abroad now become very fast, for example fotolog.com.cn. This is a site which mostly follow Flickr but in Chinese. It has been said would be the Chinese Flickr, but I still prefer to use the pro account in Flickr.

I have been always thinking there are no boarders on the Internet, but actually there are some!

Go for a trip tomorrow

I am going to Meizhou for a three day trip from tomorrow with my friends.

Actually we were planning to go today, but because of the typhoon we had to defer the date to tomorrow. We are going to FengShun (a city not far from Meizhou) first to do raft boating, and then take a bus to Meizhou for sightseeing.

Hope this is going to be a good trip! Will be back on 17th.
